The Gidderbaha police have booked two persons for allegedly duping a resident of Kotbhai village of Rs 20 lakh by promising him to delete the name of the latter’s relative from a case registered under the NDPS Act.

The complainant, Baljit Singh of Kothe Dashmesh Nagar, told the police that Gurmeet Singh of Bodiwala Kharak Singh and Mukhtiar Singh of Mohlan village in Muktsar took Rs 20 lakh from him, assuring that they would delete his relative’s name from a case registered under the NDPS Act. — TNS
