Ludhiana, August 2

The Special Task Force in a joint operation with the Ludhiana (rural) police recovered 4.5 kg of heroin near the fencing at the Indo-Pak border in Ferozepur on Friday.

The AIG, STF, Snehdeep Sharma and STF incharge Harbans Singh conducted a press meet on the matter.

Harbans Singh said secret information was received that some smugglers from Punjab had ordered a huge quantity of heroin from Pakistan smugglers and they did all the communications via WhatsApp calls. The land where heroin was concealed belongs to Kashmir Singh of Lakha Singh Wala village, Ferozepur.

A joint team of the STF, Ludhiana (rural), along with BSF officials seized the narcotics from the location. The heroin was put in two cold drink bottles and in a polythene bag.

Harbans Singh said an FIR under the NDPS Act was registered against unknown smugglers. — TNS
