Deputy Commissioner Manpreet Singh Chhatwal has sought the list of government doctors who do not perform their duty of examining inmates in the Fazilka sub-jail.

The Deputy Commissioner said the government was committed to offer better services to the inmates. He directed the Senior Medical Officer, Civil Hospital, Fazilka, to present the list of doctors who shirked to go to the jail and prepare a fresh roaster to post the doctors in the jail daily after 3 pm to examine the inmates.

Deputy Superintendent (Jails) Gurpreet Singh said the inmates often need medical assistant in the jail but doctors often do not visit the jail.
