The National Investigation Agency (NIA) here on Friday moved an application in the NIA court seeking custody of narco-terrorism accused Tariq Ahmad Lone, a resident of Handwara in Jammu and Kashmir. It also sought possession of the dockets and case property from the investigating officer of the Customs Commissionerate, Amritsar, and the records of the entire investigation. TNS

Central teams to survey damage by rivers

Punjab MP Jasbir Singh Dimpa has met Jal Shakti Minister Gajender Sekhawat in his office and brought to his notice the damage being done by the Beas and Sutlej in districts of Amritsar, Tarn Taran, Kapurthala and Ferozepur.Farmers are facing crisis. The minister promised to send Central teams to survey it and then get a detail project sanctioned in consultation with the state. TNS
