Twenty-one persons were injured when a tempo they were travelling in overturned after hitting a hillock here today.

The incident took place when nearly 40 devotees in the tempo were returning to their home in Ludhiana after paying obeisance at the Naina Devi temple.

Around 11 am when the tempo reached near Mandiali village, 4 km away from here, the driver lost control over the vehicle.

According to information, to save the vehicle from falling into the ditch, the tempo driver turned it towards the hillock.

The tempo overturned after hitting the hillock.

The injured were shifted to a hospital and the police were informed about the mishap by locals.

The police said all injured were discharged from the hospital after providing them first-aid.
