The police here today claimed to have seized 20,000 habit-forming sedative tablets and arrested three peddlers under the NDPS Act. However, two of their accomplices managed to flee.

ASI Davinder Singh said he intercepted two motorcyclists near Dhani Nirania on the state highway and seized 10,000 sedative tablets. Ashok Sirohi of Chandewal village in Jodhpur and his local conduit Sukhwinder Singh Sukha of Mahuana village in Arniwala sub-tehsil were arrested.

Khuyiansarwer ASI Balbir Singh intercepted a motorcycle near Kallarkhera village on the Abohar-Sriganganagar highway and seized 10,000 banned tablets. Vir Singh Veeru was held on the spot, but his accomplice Hans Raj of Maujgarh and alleged drug supplier Gurpreet Singh Bagga of Mateelirathan (Sriganganagar) fled the spot. The duo has also been booked under the NDPS Act. — OC
