Bid to protect Badals: Cheema

Leader of Opposition (LoP) Harpal Singh Cheema on Saturday slammed the government for allegedly posing hurdles in the process of free and fair investigations into the sacrilege and police firing cases. In a statement, Cheema said the transfer of IG by arm-twisting the EC was a ploy of Capt Amarinder to offer a protective cover to the Badals, adding that the “objections” raised by the SIT members against challan was a mere design to derail the probe.
