The police on Saturday produced Ranbir Singh, main accused in the case of mysterious death of a youth in police custody here, before the Judicial Magistrate here. The court sent Ranbir Singh to three-day police remand.

It was on the complaint of Ranbir Singh that the Crime Investigation Wing of the Faridkot police had rounded up 22-year-old Jaspal Singh from a gurdwara in Ratti Rori village here on May 18 evening.

On May 19, Jaspal Singh was found dead and his body was alleged dumped by three policemen, including incharge of the Crime Investigation Wing Narinder Singh, in the Rajasthan feeder canal here.

Probing the custodial death of Jaspal Singh, Chief Judicial Magistrate, Faridkot, TPS Randhawa has written to the SP (Headquarters), Faridkot, to produce in the court CCTV footage of May 18-19 of all cameras installed in the Crime Investigation Wing.
