Summon school, nursing home mgmt: Jyani

Former Fazilka BJP MLA Surjit Kumar Jyani has filed a fresh application in the Punjab and Haryana High Court seeking that the managements of DAV Senior Secondary School, Jalalabad, and Preet Nursing Home, Jalalabad, be summoned as court witnesses in the election petition filed him. The petitioner has demanded that the court witnesses be summoned to produce record regarding the date of birth of Fazilka Congress MLA Davinder Singh Ghubaya.

Surjit Kumar Jyani’s personal assistant, Rakesh Seghal, who is also witness in the case, said Justice Jaswant Singh had directed the respondent to file reply in the court on May 31 in this regard.

Meanwhile, the counsel of the respondent has also filed written argument regarding the case in the court today.

Sources said DAV Senior Secondary School, Jalalabad, from where defendant Davinder Ghubaya got education till Class VIII, mentioned the date of birth of Ghubaya as July 31, 1993, in the transfer certificate.

But in 2016, when Davinder Ghubaya submitted an application of lateral entry before the Sub-Registrar, Deaths and Births, Jalalabad, seeking his date of birth certificate, had submitted documents issued by DAV Senior Secondary School, Jalalabad, mentioning his date of birth as December 13, 1991, which caused confusion.

Similarly, Preet Nursing Home mentioned the date of birth of Ghubaya as December 13, 1991.
