A 70-year-old man and his middle-aged son were found stabbed to death at Tandi Aulakh village in Bholath. The assailants, who committed the crime on Sunday, reportedly left the wife of the septuagenarian injured with her mouth covered.
The incident came to light today as the married daughter of the couple, Sarabjit Kaur, reached her parental home after getting no response to her calls for the past two days.
She found her father Santokh Singh (70) and brother Kirpal Singh (40) murdered and her mother Balbir Kaur (65) reeling in pain. Balbir Kaur was rushed to hospital where she told the police that youths armed with swords had attacked her husband and son.
While the police are learnt to have zeroed in on the accused, SSP Kapurthala Satinder Singh said, “We need more time to ascertain the facts.”
