Under suspicion of lifting a vehicle, some people badly thrashed a youth by tying his hands and legs in Ward No. 10 of Gidderbaha recently.

The police have started an investigation after the video of the incident went viral on the social media. Sources said the youth was drunk and while returning from a marriage, he fell on the road along with his motorcycle. “When he was standing up, people mistook him as a vehicle lifter and thrashed him badly,” the sources said.

Krishan Kumar, SHO, Gidderbaha police station, said, “We are investigating the matter.” — TNS
