Verka, flagship brand of the Punjab State Cooperative Milk Producers’ Federation Limited (Milkfed), has increased prices of all variants of milk by Rs 2 per litre (Re 1 per 500 ml pouch) with effect from today.

A 500 ml of full cream milk will now be available for Rs 28 instead of Rs 27, standard milk will cost Rs 25 instead of Rs 24, toned milk Rs 23 against Rs 22 and the rate of double toned milk has also been hiked accordingly.

The revised rates will be applicable in Punjab, Chandigarh, Panchkula and surrounding areas like Pinjore and Kalka. Sources in the Milkfed said in view of the increasing cost of milk production, the prices have been increased.
