Six months after the Special Investigation Team (SIT), probing the sacrilege-firing incidents, filed the challan against six persons in the Kotkapura firing incident, the SIT on Friday filed a supplementary challan in the case in the court of District and Sessions Judge, Faridkot.

In its challan, filed in May this year, the SIT had claimed that the probe into the role of former Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal, former Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal, former DGP Sumedh Saini, DIG Amar Singh Chahal and Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh was still under way. However, in the supplementary challan, there is no mention of these political and religious leaders as accused in the case. — TNS
