The police today succeeded in tracing four students of a private school in Mansa hours after they “went missing”.
SSP Dr Narinder Bhargava said a Mansa resident lodged a complaint with the police today stating his 14-year-old son along with his three friends, who all are students of a private school, left home at 8.30 am, but didn’t return till 3.30 pm.
The police constituted teams to trace these students. Their bicycles were found at Mansa bus stand. The police also inquired about the presence of mobile phones with the boys. However, these phones were switched off. Later, one of the mobiles was switched on and the police zeroed in on its location, which was showing Punjab University, Chandigarh.
The police rang up the student who told them that someone took them to Chandigarh and their life may be under threat. The Mansa police tied up with the Chandigarh police and rescued all the four boys. — TNS
