A 35-year-old widow in Abohar and 16-year-old girl in Sriganganagar have been allegedly raped. They have been admitted to respective government hospitals.

The police said the victims had been medically examined. The Abohar victim said the incident took place when she was returning from Sriganganagar to Jalalabad and was waiting for a bus at the Abohar bus stand yesterday. Two persons offered her lift in their car claiming that they were also going to Jalalabad.

The duo allegedly gave her spiked drink on the way and halted the car in a field. They took her to a house on the Seetogunno road and allegedly raped her. Today morning, they dropped her near the bus stand here and fled.

A brick-kiln worker in Sriganganagar today escorted his 16-year-old niece to the police station. She alleged that two persons, who were serving at a roadside hotel, abducted her to nearby sandy dunes and raped her over the night. They abandoned her and fled next morning. She managed to return to the brick-kiln. The police said the victim has been hospitalised. A case was registered under Section 376D and Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act. The suspects were not found at their respective homes.
