Four members of a family, including three children, suffered burn injuries late this evening after their vehicle lost way and got trapped in stubble fire on the Namol-Longowal road.

As per information, Chamkaur Singh, his wife Sakina Kaur (32) and three children — daughters Manpreet Kaur (5) and Simran Kaur (7) and son Lavpreet (2) were returning to Longowal from Namol in a modified three-wheel vehicle.

When they reached near Longowal, their vehicle lost way due to stubble fire and it went into a burning field. The family somehow managed to came out.

They were rushed to the Sangrur civil hospital by passersby just on time.

Dr Ravinder Nath said Manpreet had suffered 40 per cent burns, Simran 10 per cent, while Lavpreet 15 and their mother Sakina sustained 20 per cent burn injuries.

“They are out of danger. They have told our staff that the mishap took place due to stubble-burning,” said Dr Nath.
