A three-day training programme on “Women empowerment — A step towards gender equality” organised by Mahatma Gandhi State Institute of Public Administration (MGSIPA) concluded at Fazilka today.

About 30 government officials participated in the workshop. Fazilka DC Manpreet Singh Chhatwal said women empowerment was one of the key components to ensure gender equality and achieve the goal of a healthy and harmonious society.

“Measures to ensure women empowerment should include proper recognition of woman’s contribution to society, bridging gender pay gap and participation of women in every field of life,” he said. — OC
