Best Lawyers in Chandigarh Vigilance inspects Sangrur buildings
Tribune News Service
Sangrur, September 2
Three days after The Tribune highlighted the construction of illegal buildings in Sangrur city, a vigilance team of the Local Government Department today inspected buildings and took some records from the local Nagar Council. During inspection, area residents alleged corruption in the council.
“We have come here to inspect under-construction buildings and we would submit our report to senior authorities. We cannot share more information,” a member of the VB team said.
Council’s Executive Officer Ramesh Kumar said they had handed over all records sought by the VB team.
“Many officers of the Local Government Department are taking money from locals and allowing construction of illegal buildings. But area residents, who have all records and are doing everythigh as per law, are facing harassment,” Parveen Bansal, a retired PSPCL officer, alleged.
