Best Lawyers in Chandigarh Institutions working for disabled to be honoured

The state government has invited applications for the state award to the institutions working for the welfare of “Divyang”, besides the employees, “Divyang” individuals and sportspersons.

A spokesperson for the Department of Social Security, Women and Child Development said the eligible applicants could obtain the prescribed pro forma from the office of the district social security officer and deposit it till September 30.

The applications received at the district level will be selected on the basis of the recommendations made by the committee headed by the Deputy Commissioner and on these recommendations, a state-level committee will select the awardees. These awards will be given on World Disabled Day on December 3.

According to the spokesman, the award for the best employee/ self-employed with disabilities will be given in six sub-categories i.e. blindness, low vision, leprosy cured, hearing impairment, locomotors disability and multiple disabilities.
