In the wake of the change in weather, the State Education Department has issued an order to change the timings of all government, private-aided and recognised schools in the state. The Education Department, through a letter to the District Education Officers, said the new timings for primary schools would be from 8.30 am to 2.30 pm while the middle, high and senior secondary schools would run from 8.30 am to 2.50 pm.

The new timings will be effective from October 1. The current school timings are 8 am to 2 pm for all classes.

The department said timings from November 1, 2019, to February 28, 2020, would be 9 am to 3 pm for primary classes while for middle, high and secondary it would be 9 am to 3.20 pm.

It is pertinent to mention that it is for the first time that school timings have been changed at this time of the season. Earlier, the timings were changed in November.
