The Vigilance Bureau arrested ASI Jasbir Singh, posted at City Police Station, while allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 10,000 on Thursday evening.

A case under the Prevention of Corruption Act has been registered. The Vigilance team, led by DSP Kewal Krishan, arrested the accused following a complaint by Ashwini Kumar, a resident of Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar in Phagwara, who had alleged that the accused had demanded a bribe of Rs 10,000 in a land dispute case filed by him. The accused had sought bribe to register an FIR.
