Best Lawyers in Chandigarh Act against SIT head, says AAP

Chandigarh, September 3

AAP Sunam MLA Aman Arora today filed a case of breach of privilege and contempt of House against Prabodh Kumar, head of SIT probing sacrilege cases and Director, Bureau of Investigation, under Section 262 of Chapter 21 of Rules of Procedure and Conduct of Business in The Punjab Vidhan Sabha, before Speaker Rana KP Singh.

Arora, in his plea, said the Assembly during a discussion on the Justice Ranjit Singh Commission report on August 28, 2018, had unanimously passed a resolution to withdraw all cases related to sacrilege and police firing from the CBI. On July 4, 2019, Kumar reportedly wrote a letter to the CBI asking it to further probe the three cases related to Bargari sacrilege as some new facts came to light, which clearly amounts to breach of privilege and contempt of the House, for which action should be taken. —TNS
