Under the ongoing fifth Mega Job Fair, Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh will hand over appointment letters at Chamkaur Sahib on October 5. The fair at more than 100 locations, identified by the Employment Generation Department, will end tomorrow.

A government spokesman said that out of the 89,224 selected for jobs at the fair held across the state under the Ghar-Ghar Rozgar scheme, 33,341 fell in the `Under 10 youth per village’ programme, while 98 were persons with disabilities.

Of the 27,641 youth chosen for self-employment, there are 18,973 boys, 8,651 girls and 17 persons with disabilities. They will further groom start-ups and entrepreneurship in the state. Similarly, as many as 6,727 youths have been chosen for skill training programme in this segment. —TNS
