Best Lawyers in Chandigarh 27 teams to monitor polling in Jalalabad

In all, 27 surveillance teams have been set up to monitor Jalalabad byelections. District Election Officer-cum-Fazilka Deputy Commissioner Manpreet Sigh Chhatwal said these teams would help in holding fair and transparent byelections in Jalalabad segment of the Fazilka district.

These include nine flying squads, nine statics surveillance, three video surveillance, three video-viewing and three accounting teams, which would work round-the-clock for to conduct free and fair elections in the area.

“These teams will be able to contact the district authorities through modern equipment during any adverse circumstances,” the DC said.

As many as 239 polling booths have been set up in the segment, he added.

Sources said over 2 lakh voters shall exercise the right to franchise in the polls. — OC
