The Court of Additional Sessions Judge Amar Paul today adjourned hearing on the closure report moved by the Vigilance Bureau (VB) in the alleged multicrore Hoshiarpur-Jalandhar national highway four-laning scam till September 5.
The prosecution has been directed to file a reply on a plea seeking directions to the Investigating Officer to produce a complete record before hearing arguments on the Vigilance Bureau’s closure report giving a clean chit to all accused in the alleged scam causing loss to the state exchequer.
The bureau has given a clean chit to the then SDM Anand Sagar Sharma (nodal officer for land acquisiton), Hoshiarpur market committee chairman Avtar Singh Johal, councillor Harpinder Gill, district cooperative bank chairman Satwinder Pal Singh Dhatt, Devi Ram, Parteek Gupta and other accused persons.
Five persons, including Jaapinder Singh, Jagroop Singh, Harpreet Singh, Onkar Singh and Sukhwinder Singh, hailing from Hoshiarpur district, had challenged the cancellation report.
