Patiala, July 30

A four-year-old girl was allegedly raped by a migrant worker in Samana. The district police have arrested the 33-year-old accused, Kamal Kishore of Raebareli district in Uttar Pradesh, after the registration of an FIR under Section 376 of the IPC and Section 4 of the POCSO Act.

The victim has been admitted to the Samana civil hospital. The police said a medical examination of the victim had been conducted.

The police said the accused had admitted to his crime.

The SHO of Samana city police station said the accused was living in a rented house and was working as a labourer along with the victim’s father. Both were drunk on Sunday afternoon while having lunch at the victim’s house. The accused, on the pretext of getting something from market, took the girl along on a cycle and allegedly raped her. — TNS
