The district police on Wednesday seized 160 bags of poppy husk worth Rs 2.5 crore even as two peddlers managed to give cops the slip. The contraband was smuggled from Rajasthan in a truck (RJ-14-GC-1754). The bags of poppy husk were hidden under the consignment of bananas. A team of the local anti-narcotics cell laid a special naka at Kot-ise-Khan town in the early hours on Wednesday and seized the contraband. — TNS
