Dam safety award for BBMB chief

Chandigarh, May 31

Chairman of the Bhakra Beas Management Board (BBMB) DK Sharma has been conferred with the “Award for Dam Safety – Individual Professional Excellence” by the Aqua Foundation under the aegis of the Central Water Commission in association with the World Bank, Central Board of Irrigation and Power and the International Commission on Irrigation and Drainage.

This award has been given in recognition of his significant contribution in the field of design, construction and operation and maintenance of dams for more than 37 years. He has been associated in different capacities during inception, planning, design or construction stages of the various dams in India and abroad. — TNS
